Places to Travel in India post Covid

14 places to visit in India post Covid

Traveling will and has changed drastically post covid. Before covid, traveling meant packing clothes, booking tickets and leaving but now traveling means, getting corona tests, packing extra masks, doing online registration on state portals, going through random rapid testing and then leaving. Most people are not traveling due to mainly two reasons first is precautions against corona and second is that the ones willing to travel do not want to go through such long processes. Covid started in late 2019 and is still impacting people in 2021. Almost all sectors have been affected throughout the world and the worst affected is the tourism sector. Some sectors have completely vanished too. Many hotels were shut down temporarily and permanently due to lack of guests and increased expenses which led to laying off employees of several hotels. Small and big restaurants were shut down too because their sales were next to zero. Only some middle ranged restaurants survived which were delivering food throughout the pandemic through food delivery apps. Tourism still ranks first on the list of top affected sectors. This happened because of ban of flying and travelling. Some airlines and private trains had to pause their operations temporarily because there were only some passengers who were willing to travel and only running transport for them would have put the companies in great loss. Some airlines had contracts with the government to run their operations for medical and emergency travels which included Vande Bharat Programme and other programmes which delivered medical and emergency supplies to various states throughout the country.

Traveling and tourists in many states are still banned due to corona cases but some great places are open too and expecting and accepting tourists with open arms. Some states are allowing such travels because tourism will not only promote their state but also help them in re-establishing after the pandemic is over and people start travelling again. Ridhima Narula Travel Art
Ridhima Narula

A 20-year-old hotel management student having an immense love for dogs and travelling, is how one can describe me in a line. I am Ridhima Narula, an ordinary teenager who is dreaming about food and sleeping always. Even when I am awake, I am in a dream. I like teasing people I like, to show them I like them. I am a mother to two indie dogs, I rescued when they were puppies and abandoned by their mother. I proudly hate people who believe in buying dogs instead of adopting and rescuing. Also, I run an online thrift store to share my love for clothes combined with sustainability. I am known as the girl who is always smiling. I am a ‘glass half full’ optimistic person trying to see the good in everything even if it is kicking me. I interned in JW Marriott, Aerocity New Delhi and that is the place where I realized that hotels are something I want to be a part of despite everything. Pandemic made my choices seem glim but it is what it is. I aspire to be a professional in the hotel industry. My bucket list includes being able to travel as much as I can and educate people on rescuing dogs and sustainability. That’s all about me!
